Description

As an integral part of our recruiting process, each year we invite a number of second year law students to spend the summer working with us. We look for motivated individuals with a strong academic background, preferably in technology or science, preparing for a career in intellectual property law. During their time with us, summer associates are given the opportunity to experience several different areas of Sughrue's practice. Individuals with expertise in a particular field of science or technology are encouraged to participate in projects that will allow them to use their special skills and knowledge. Our Summer Associate Program is designed to provide training in the substantive and procedural aspects of the practice. To this end, each summer associate is assigned two mentors, one partner and one associate, who are responsible for ensuring the quality and variety of work, as well as timely and appropriate feedback.

Summer associates also have plenty of opportunities to socialize, enjoy new experiences and get to know us. At the end of the summer, we hope that program participants will have gained new insight into the practice of intellectual property law and have a little fun along the way.
