Program Overview:

The Comcast Center Internship Program (CCIP) is an 11-week summer internship program based at our Philadelphia Headquarter location. The program is designed to identify high-caliber talent to build our organization with the best and the brightest students who come from a variety of sourcing channels, including on-campus career fairs, partner organizations, and direct applications. In this role you will immerse yourself into the Comcast culture, working side by side with innovative and talented Comcasters. You will cultivate meaningful relationships and develop strong interpersonal and business skills that will set you apart from your peers. 

Additionally, you experience will include:

  • Working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units at Comcast during your internship experience.
  • An inside look into the day-to-day operations of an organization at the cutting edge of media and technology.
  • Professional development: You will be exposed to a variety of professional development topics facilitated through our partners at Comcast University and senior leaders within the organization. These sessions are inclusive of speaker series, skill-building workshops, and networking opportunities.
  • Mentoring from fellow colleagues through the Empowering Future Leaders Program (EFLP) to help you navigate your experience, provide coaching, and expand your professional network.
  • Continuously develop relationships with fellow interns through social activities, community building, and networking.

Role Overview:

The Labor and Employee Relations group supports all aspects of the Company’s relationship with its employees.  The group’s primary responsibilities include providing guidance to business and HR leaders, ensuring the Company’s compliance with labor and employment laws, developing the Company’s employment policies and practices, negotiating collective bargaining agreements, conducting investigations, overseeing the Company’s alternative dispute resolution program, and administering the Company’s annual employee survey. 

The summer associate’s primary duties include providing assistance to members of the Labor & Employee Relations Group and Legal Department in:

  • Developing employment policies
  • Researching and drafting memoranda on labor and employment issues
  • Conducting employee investigations
  • Assisting with the preparation of responses to EEOC charges
  • Communicating guidance on employee relations issues to business and HR leaders throughout the organization
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Students should be currently enrolled in a 3-year JD program at an accredited law school in the United States
  • Completed first year of JD program
  • Authorization to work in the United States of America
  • 3.25 GPA or Top 1/3 of class
  • Interest in Labor and Employment Law and/or Human Resources
  • Taken or planning to take a labor law or employment law class
  • Strong, research, written, and oral communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interest in the telecommunications, cable and media industries
  • Ability to work on a team.
  • Authorized to work in the United States of America.
