CBS Sports Network is looking for an enthusiastic Legal Intern to join our team for the upcoming semester. This position will enable the successful candidate to get first hand legal/business affairs experience within a fast-paced sports television network.

The intern will work closely with all attorneys and staff members within the legal department. The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing, summarizing, organizing, and occasional drafting of programming, production and talent agreements. Additional responsibilities will include researching intellectual property and new media issues, and reviewing and commenting upon footage and music licenses.

CBS Sports Network (CBSSN), the 24-hour home of CBS Sports, televises 350 live games and 2,200+ hours of original programming every year including live college football, college basketball, and more from the MW, C-USA, A-10, Army, Navy, and the Patriot League. CBSSN is the home to Professional Bull Riding and Major League Lacrosse. "Throughout the year, the network also telecasts a full slate of original programming and studio coverage. It is home to “NFL Monday QB” featuring Phil Simms, Rich Gannon and Steve Beuerlein, the weekday simulcast of CBS Sports Radio’s “Boomer & Carton,” Jim Rome’s daily show “Rome,” “Lead Off” with Doug Gottlieb and Allie LaForce, and “That Other Pregame Show” which covers Pro, College, and Fantasy Football every Sunday morning.

-- Positions available January 12- May 8, 17 weeks.
-- Applicants are expected to work a total of 6 hours per day.
-- Internships are in New York, NY. Selected students must be willing to relocate or commute at their own expense.

-- Completion of intellectual property classes by interested candidates is preferred.

-- Candidates should be reliable, flexible, detail-oriented, capable of anticipating client needs, and able to work with minimal supervision.
-- Candidates must also be able to handle confidential matters discreetly and exercise good judgment.
-- Candidates must currently be enrolled in a J.D. program and be in good academic standing.
