POSITION TITLE: Summer Law Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Law Department 
STATUS: Full-time/Temporary Summer 2016

EDUCATION/MAJOR:  First or Second year law student in good standing, in at least upper 1/3 of class

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

-- Excellent legal research and writing skills; 
-- Excellent verbal communication skills; 
-- Knowledge of Lexis/Nexis; 
-- Demonstrated interest or experience in journalism, broadcast/broadcast production, media and/or entertainment industry; 
-- Proficiency with general computer applications. 
 
JOB DUTIES:

Law Clerk will conduct legal research and analysis, prepare case and decision digests, memoranda and talking points, prepare executive summaries of issues, and otherwise assist attorneys in the law department. 

The law clerk will be exposed to a wide variety of legal issues and subjects handled by the Law Department, including communications law, contracts, contests/sweepstakes/promotions, FCC regulatory and policy matters, trademark/copyright, newsgathering, FOIA and general litigation. 

This is a temporary full-time paid position, with employment only during Summer 2016.
