NetApp’s Summer Intern Program is a 3 month summer experience that will provide you with an opportunity to gain in depth knowledge about NetApp’s business and culture as you enjoy meeting with organizational leaders during lunch, network with your fellow intern colleagues at various social events, and present your hard work to NetApp executives and management. You will be exposed to our culture and values both of which play a key role in NetApp routinely being recognized as a great place to work.as we develop your basic understanding and foundation for future growth and responsibility. During the summer you will develop an understanding of what it takes to run a medium size legal organization from inside a corporation.

We will have Intern position(s) within the NetApp Legal Department’s Compliance Group. The Compliance Group is responsible for the development and implementation of NetApp’s global ethics and compliance function, and associated programs to ensure NetApp is in legal compliance with requirements and at par with industry best practice. The primary goal of this internship is to provide the intern with a basic understanding of the pillars of an effective compliance program.

We will have Intern position(s) within the NetApp Legal Department’s Contract Management Group. The Contract Management (CM) team is responsible for managing sales contracts and leveraging contract information to drive processes that impact order processing, facilitate cross-functional decision making, and minimize compliance risks.

We will have Intern position(s) within the NetApp Legal Department’s Product group which primarily assists supply chain, product operations and engineering organizations responsible for the development of NetApp products. The goal of the internship is to provide the intern with practical hi tech legal experience working on a variety of projects, matters and issues. Product legal work at NetApp ranges from inbound and outbound licensing to advising on European environmental regulations. The intern’s practical experience will consist of using, applying, researching and building legal knowledge while actively assisting the Legal Department with NetApp client matters.

We will also have Intern position(s) within the NetApp Legal Department’s Innovation Services. The Intern will work closely with the Intellectual Property Counsel, and will help provide legal services that support efforts to develop NetApp's patent portfolio, develop offensive / defensive IP strategies, manage IP transactional projects, and ensure the continued operational IP excellence of NetApp.

-- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build strong relationships with clients throughout NetApp as well as legal department colleagues worldwide.

 Education and experience:

Currently enrolled in an accredited JD program (second year or higher).
