MailChimp has more than 7 million users across the globe, and we send millions of emails a day. We're seeking an intern for our legal department. We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and has an unwavering commitment to confidentiality. We're looking for someone with a background in corporate law, intellectual property, and/or international law. You must be comfortable in an evolving workplace and should like primates (at least the cartoon kind). You will assist with the many tasks that arise for fast growing international web business. This may include: drafting and reviewing contracts; researching and composing memoranda on current legal issues; receiving and responding to subpoenas and DMCA takedown notices; researching patents; and making trademark and copyright filings. You may also sit on on meetings and conference calls regarding upcoming products and features.
This internship period spans from mid-May 2015 to early August 2015 though there is flexibility. This is a paid opportunity.
