Description

The Information Society Project (ISP) at Yale Law School is now accepting applications for our 2026–27 Resident Fellowships

The fellowship is designed for recent graduates of law or Ph.D. programs who are pursuing an academic career and whose research aligns with one or more ISP research areas.

For this cycle, we especially encourage applications from scholars working on projects related to (1) Artificial Intelligence and (2) the digital public sphere, including topics such as freedom of speech, content moderation, privacy, antitrust, and algorithmic governance.

Fellows are expected to write at least two scholarly works per year, participate fully in ISP programming, and be present in New Haven at least three full days per week.

The fellowship offers a salary of $70,000 plus Yale benefits, a travel stipend, and access to university resources, and may be renewed for a second year based on performance.

Application materials include:

  • A cover letter indicating interest in the fellowship
  • A research agenda (max. 5 pages)
  • A CV or résumé
  • A law/graduate school transcript
  • At least one scholarly writing sample (in English)
  • Two letters of recommendation

Applications for self-funded Resident Fellowships are accepted on a rolling basis.
