Responsibilities include:

Prepublication review of magazine and online content including stories, posts, photos, audio, and video

Advice on libel, privacy, newsgathering, copyright, and other intellectual property rights

Investigate and respond to complaints and queries

Conduct legal seminars for staff
-
Drafting relevant licenses and other agreements
-
General legal advice to editors and publisher, as well as to writers, fact-checkers, and advertisement department
Qualifications:
-
Minimum four years’ experience in media law, as a litigator and/or conducting prepublication for a national newspaper, magazine, network, website, book publisher, and/or in a firm's media group
-
Experience in libel, newsgathering, privacy, reporter's privilege, and First Amendment matters

Experience drafting media-related agreements, including licenses
-
Knowledge of copyright, trademark, and intellectual property rights, including digital rights
