We are currently seeking a Business and Legal Affairs Intern to be located in our New York - Chelsea office.

Application Deadline: Dec. 19, 2014

This Summer internship will begin on or after May 26, 2015 and end on or before August 21, 2015.

Anticipated hours per week: 30

Internship Qualifications

  • -- Intern must be a rising or current junior, rising or current senior, graduate student, or recent graduate (within 6 months of graduation date) at an accredited college/university.
  • -- Applicants must have completed their sophomore year prior to the start of the internship.
    Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0
    -- Must have previous internship experience and/or participated in college -- clubs/organizations, and/or in-depth coursework in a related field
    -- Legally eligible to work in the United States. Scripps Networks is unable to sponsor visas for interns. If you are an international student not already studying in the U.S. on a F-1 or J-1 visa, then you have to go through a university or an outside organization (internship placement agency) that will sponsor your visa.
    -- Current 1st or 2nd year law student. The applicant must have completed a minimum of one semester of law school prior to commencement of internship and have taken ---Commercial Transactions, Corporate Law and/or Business Law, as well as introductory coursework covering Intellectual Property Rights.
    --- Minimum grade point average of 3.0 or minimum average grade of "B".
    --- Must have strong written and oral communication skills, organization, coordination and planning skills. The ideal candidate also has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and severe time constraints.

Duties and Responsibilities

-- Develop a system for tracking Digital talent deal terms and requirements
-- Create a database of past Digital commercial deals involving talent
-- Assist with the fulfillment of information requests concerning Digital talent
-- Track advertiser/agency proposed changes to standard Digital Ad Sales documents
-- Assist in research on competitor terms and conditions applicable to the creation of Digital content
-- Assist in research on competitor terms and conditions applicable to advertising placement on the Digital platform
