A great opportunity exists for bright, well-organized and enthusiastic individuals to work with a stellar team on cutting edge technology issues. You will handle our various product agendas with policy makers inside and outside government. In addition, you will help advise our product and engineering teams on the public policy implications of their products, working with a closely coordinated and cross-functional global team. The role requires significant experience either working with or in government, politics or a regulatory agency as well as an ability to grasp complex technical and policy issues.

Your specific role will include a core focus on engaging users, developers, and other relevant online constituencies on public policy issues. This role requires experience in digital organizing in the context of successful policy and advocacy campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • -- Own the online organizing strategy and execution.
  • -- Develop public policy campaign strategies and materials in coordination with other team members, policy leads, product, legal, marketing and PR.
  • -- Work with third-party leads to move the needle on common policy priorities across regions.
  • -- Monitor what’s happening in the industry and with respect to policy issues, analyze the deeper significance of those developments, and write concise reports and analytical notes.

Minimum qualifications

  • -- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • -- 8 years of experience working within national politics, government, think tanks, public interest groups or the field of corporate public policy.

Preferred qualifications

  • -- History of conceiving and executing creative digital campaigns achieving policy results and press attention; familiarity with internet technologies and the surrounding policy environments.
  • -- Ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical and regulatory issues.
  • -- Team player with a sense of humor and the ability to exercise good judgement in a rapidly changing and sometimes stressful environment.
  • -- Knowledge of proven online organizing tactics and the latest tools.
  • -- Excellent personal, political, analytical and organizational skills.
  • -- Great communicator, in person and in writing.
