Creative RightsPlease join us on March 17 for an important discussion about protecting creative rights in the age of social media.  In conjunction with the UNC Office of Communications and Public Affairs, the Center for Media Law and Policy will host a panel discussion moderated by Deborah Gerhardt, assistant professor at the UNC School of Law and an expert on copyright, trademark and plagiarism.

The panel will explore the rights of creative professionals working in the visual arts and discuss why it is important to protect those rights and how to use copyright and trademark law to do so. Our panelists will include:

  • Justin Cook, Carolina alumnus and professional photographer based in Durham, and
  • Mickey Osterreicher, general counsel for the National Press Photographers Association

The event is free and open to the public.

It will also be streamed live.  You can watch it here:
