On March 5, the UNC Media Law Society and the Center for Media Law & Policy will host Megan Meier for a conversation about defamation law and the First Amendment. Megan has been a defamation attorney since 2014, and is a founding partner of the defamation law firm Meier Watkins Phillips Pusch LLP.

Megan will sit down with Mary-Rose Papandrea, Samuel Ashe Distinguished Professor of Constitutional Law at the UNC School of Law, for a conversation about her career, work as a plaintiff’s attorney in defamation cases, and the Dominion Voting Systems v. Fox News Network case, which Megan was involved in.

Over the course of her career, Megan has been involved with some of the most interesting cases and settlements in defamation law. Megan was an integral part of the legal team that succeeded in extracting a settlement in the Dominion Voting Systems v. Fox News Network case. She also helped secure an apology from the Southern Poverty Law Center for defaming a progressive Muslim think tank. We look forward to welcoming Megan to UNC Law.
