The Graduate School of Science and Technology Policy (STP) at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) is searching to fill one tenure-track position in information and communication technology (ICT) policy. In all societies, ICT is shaping, and shaped by, political processes, economic interests, social changes, and cultural values. We look for scholars whose research examines the complex ways in which ICT is developed, used, regulated, and imagined within various national and international contexts.Specific research themes within ICT policy may include, but are not limited to, accessibility, openness, diversity, mobility, identity, innovation, public good, trust, governance, surveillance, and privacy.We are seeking highly qualified candidates trained in communication studies, sociology, law, political science, public policy, geography, or STS. At the same time, we value scholars who employ creative interdisciplinary methods and comparative perspectives.
The position is scheduled to begin on September 1, 2013, though the starting date is negotiable. The successful applicant should have a Ph.D. in hand by that date.
KAIST is a prestigious science and technology university located in Daeduck Science Town in South Korea and uses English as a major language of instruction. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and supervising graduate students in STP.
