Description
A Trademark Fellow opportunity is available in our Fairfield & Norwalk, CT office (1 year assignment). The fellow will work within our trademark law department.
Essential Responsibilities
-- Assist in a variety of legal projects in the trademark operation of GE. These include: (1) US Preliminary and comprehensive trademark searches (2) Cease and desist letters related to trademark matters
-- Conduct legal research on various trademark, copyright, licensing, rights of publicity and related matters
-- Assist with responses to substantive US office actions
-- Assist with department simplification projects including docketing and other workflow function process improvements
Qualifications/Requirements
The fellow must have a Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent from an accredited law school
-- Interest in learning how a corporate trademark law department works
-- GPA of at least 3.0 preferred
-- Proven record of success and demonstrated leadership ability
-- Strong academic and professional credentials
-- Expert- level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. PowerPoint and Excel)
-- Solid research and analytical skills
-- Strong written and verbal communication skills
