Description

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), a nonprofit civil liberties organization based in San Francisco, is seeking a full-time Technology Generalist. This person will work with the other members of the EFF technology operations team to perform desktop support and server systems administration, manage web content on www.eff.org and other EFF sites, and generally to support EFF's staff in their mission to defend civil liberties online.

Required Skills:

  • -- Mac OS X troubleshooting and systems administration
  • -- Linux/Unix shell scripting and command line experience
  • -- Strong written and verbal communication, devotion to documentation
  • -- Enthusiasm for learning new technology skills and teaching them to others

Nice To Have Skills:

  • -- Server-side technologies (Bash, Python, Mailman, Apache, configuration management)
  • -- Experience with CiviCRM or other open source CRM platforms
  • -- Experience with Drupal or other open source content management platforms
  • -- Portfolio of open source project contributions
  • -- Experience managing a fleet of OS X and GNU/Linux laptops
