Dow Jones & Company, Inc. is soliciting applications for its Media Law & First Amendment Internship. The intern will join Dow Jones’s legal department in its New York City offices for ten weeks in the summer of 2017. Working primarily with Dow Jones’s litigation and press attorneys, the intern will focus on matters affecting publication, access to information, newsgathering, and domestic and international free-speech laws.

Responsibilities will include research, drafting memoranda, and helping to resolve the day-to-day issues that arise in publishing The Wall Street Journal , Dow Jones Newswires, Barron’s , and other publications. The intern may also be exposed to matters involving business transactions, labor and employment law, patents, and trademarks.

The intern will receive a stipend of approximately $8,000.

Candidates should be first or second-year law students and have a demonstrated interest in and commitment to media law.
