Assist ICANN’s Policy Directors and Managers as a Senior Analyst in global policy development and policy support-related duties including (but not limited to) supporting the policy development activities of ICANN’s Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO), researching & analyzing complex policy matters, managing meeting support responsibilities, drafting policy related reports and supporting community-led working groups.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide substantive and logistical support to community-led working groups policy activities by writing draft reports, conducting surveys, and analyzing data related to the development of global domain name policies. 
• Research & analyze complex policy issues and produce content for issue reports, position papers and informational materials.
• Assist the Policy Staff’s efforts to inform and educate the ICANN community on key policy activities through the use of multiple communications methods such as webinars, live presentations at ICANN conferences, and pod-casts.
• Other duties as assigned or requested.

Required Skills 

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal fluency in English required).
• Ability to express difficult and complex policy and technical topics clearly and simply.
• Ability to work with highly diverse workforce and on a flexible work schedule.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office, and specifically adept at creating presentations through PowerPoint or similar software.
• Ability to work independently (self motivated), without the support of a secretary or administrative assistant. 
• Ability to research & analyze issues related to the development of global domain name policy.
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with Internet industry leaders of diverse backgrounds, cultures and skill sets to help develop plan and develop projects and programs. 
• Coordinate and facilitate in-person, telephonic and web-based meetings and deliberations on complex political and policy issues.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines in fast-paced stressful and high-pressure environment. 
• Ability to quickly study and understand political, societal, legal and business implications of highly technical DNS issues.
• Public speaking skills preferred for ICANN conferences and webinars, and in highly visible environment where every word is recorded and shared with the community.
• Multi-lingual ability strongly preferred.
• Comfort level with an international work environment that requires availability at times outside normal business hours, seven days per week. 
• International travel may be required to support ICANN related meetings as requested for lengths of 7-10 days for each trip, approximately three times per year, on different continents.

Required Experience 

• University/College Degree with focus on international relations or public policy required.
• At least two years of service as Policy Analyst or comparable function.
• Interest in or background in national or international policy development.
• Knowledge of the operation of the Internet, the Domain Name System, and ICANN structures required.
