The University of Zurich invites applications for a Professorship in Mass Communication with focus on Media Politics / Media Governance.

The position should be filled by February 1, 2019. Depending on the qualifications of the appointee, the professorship will take the form of a chair or an assistant professorship with tenure track.

To qualify for the position, applicants must have distinct research and teaching qualifications within media policy and media governance in the context of different media systems from a social scientific perspective. Applicants are expected to have a high-quality international research profile. An emphasis on Internet governance is of advantage. The candidate is expected to represent the discipline of communications to its full extent and to participate in teaching introductory level courses and lectures.

Candidates should hold a PhD degree at the time of application and have an excellent record of academic achievements in the relevant field. Non-German speaking candidates are expected to acquire a working knowledge of German within the first three years of appointment.
