Description

Perform global ccNSO policy and policy related duties and carry out responsibilities in the following areas (including, but not limited to): supporting activities that aid in the development of global policies and ccNSO policies and ccNSO position and statements that advance ICANN’s mission.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop, implement, and support programs, projects and strategies to advance ccNSO policy and objectives.
• Coordinate cross-functional projects with other ICANN teams.
• Establish and manage working groups or committees that are tasked by the ccNSO Council to develop and implement policy, working methods or other ccNSO related activities.
• Produce policy documents in support of community efforts and as requested by the Senior Policy Counselor to advance policy objectives.
• Support effective communications with industry leaders, executives, managers and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that ICANN’s policy objectives are being met. 
• Help advance the ccTLD community's interests in policy development and facilitate decision-making processes.
• Foster greater global understanding and awareness of ICANN mission to preserve the security, stability and interoperability of the Domain Naming System through use of the Internet, face-to-face communication, education and outreach programs.
• Coordinate ccNSO interaction with the Policy Development Department, and with the Supporting Organizations and other Advisory Committees.
• Manage ccNSO outreach and engagement activities, to ensure efficient and successful communication around the ccNSO objectives and functions. 
• Other duties as assigned or requested.

Required Skills

• Broad knowledge and experience in working in international environments.
• Excellent skills in preparing reports, presentations and speeches for internal and external audiences.
• Hands-on experience in the development of telecommunications and Internet policy, with highly diverse workforce.
• Comfort level with 24-7 work environment.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work independently, solve issues and problems in an ambiguous environment, work with culturally diverse groups, and educate people in using new tools.
• Knowledge of the Internet and Domain Name System required.
• Specialized knowledge of ccTLD environment.

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years related program management and policy development experience.
• University degree required, advanced/master’s degree in Public Policy, International Relations or related fields strongly preferred.
