We are currently seeking a Legal Intern for our Mountain View Office. Symantec Corporation (NASDAQ: SYMC) is the global leader in cyber security. Job Overview

In this role, you will provide assistance to the IP/Marketing and Brand Protection teams within Symantec’s Legal and Public Affairs department. You will work under the supervision of Senior Counsel, reviewing marketing collateral and assisting with brand enforcement matters. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience working with the in-house legal team of an established Silicon Valley company.

Responsibilities

• Conducting advertising review for marketing collateral in all media. This includes working closely with Senior Counsel to provide consultation for advertising claims

• Assisting with the drafting of rules for contests, sweepstakes and promotions

• Assisting with investigation and analysis of issues related to brand protection and enforcement including drafting and responding to demand letters

• Gathering evidence for online disputes including domain names, trademark/copyright infringement and brand protection

• Assisting with other marketing or enforcement related matters/projects as needed

Qualifications
• Completed minimum second of year law school by start of summer
• GPA 3.0+
• Familiarity with basics of trademark and copyright laws; advertising law a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive and motivated self-starter who is comfortable working in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
• Great sense of humor
