Description
Law students will become familiar with the daily workflow of in-house counsel, including negotiating and drafting agreements, analyzing deal terms, and interacting with business clients. Over the course of the internship, students will rotate through the various legal groups, in each case using their analytical, reasoning and writing abilities working under the supervision of experienced attorneys and staff in the following areas:
-- Affiliate Sales (television distribution)
-- Agreements / Programming
-- Brand Licensing
-- Digital Media / Information Technology
-- International Channels / International Syndication
-- Litigation
-- Intellectual Property
-- Music
-- Pre-Broadcast Review / 1st Amendment
-- Rights & Clearances / Standard & Practices
The intern will be responsible for:
-- Reviewing and summarizing key deal points on contracts.
-- Researching legal and Intellectual Property issues via the Internet or other means and reporting the results to the Department.
-- Helping to review rights bibles; assisting on other rights and clearances projects.
-- Assisting with standards and practices projects.
-- Providing general support on programming, litigation, marketing, distribution, digital media and international matters.
