Description

Loyola University Chicago is looking for candidates to fill the Bill Plante Chair in Digital Journalism at the School of Communication. We are seeking a thoughtful leader, someone committed to writing and fostering discourse about the future of journalism and information dissemination in the digital age. 

 

The chosen candidate will teach courses in both our undergraduate and professional graduate programs, and will be expected to continue actively writing and speaking. 

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: 

-A strong background in journalism 

-Knowledge of and skills in online journalism and new media 

-A strong record in writing and speaking about the future of journalism 

 

In addition to these skills, the chair will be expected to keep pace with changing technology, be an innovative colleague who can both lead and contribute to the School of Communication as our program grows. The chair will also maintain Loyola's Jesuit tradition of mission of service to humanity through learning, justice, and faith. 

 

The chair will be appointed to a renewable multi-year contract and also will receive resources to host an annual symposium and additional travel funds.
