Position Overview:

Canon, U. S. A., Inc. is currently hiring for our 2017 Canon Insights Intern Program.  The Insights Program is a comprehensive program that runs for 10 weeks during the summer. This is a full-time (9 AM to 5 PM), 35 hours a week, paid internship. This program is designed to provide students an opportunity to gain hands-on work experience by participating in significant work projects and exposure to various business units within Canon.

Legal Intern in the Legal Administration Division:

This position provides the rising 3rd year law student with a unique opportunity to experience corporate in-house law practice first hand.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include assisting staff attorneys with transactional matters and research/writing in various areas of expertise including employment law, marketing review, litigation support, licensing, privacy and data security and document review.

Qualifications:

To succeed in the Insights Program, you must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Power point, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We also require candidates to be enrolled in a related major in the department of interest and have some former work or internship experience.

-- We prefer Legal students that have completed at least TWO YEARS of law school at an accredited law school in the United States, however, all are welcome to apply.
-- Candidate should have at least a 3.25 (or equivalent) GPA in law school and undergraduate.
-- Transcripts and writing samples may be requested.
-- Must be proficient in MS Word, Power Point, Westlaw or Lexis/Nexis. Writing experience preferred.
Should have an interest in business and corporate law and an understanding of technology in general.
