On Tuesday, February 20, the UNC Media Law Society is hosting a lunchtime panel discussion about the diverse field of media law, which encompasses everything from the First Amendment to telecom to intellectual property. The event will take place at noon in classroom 5048 at the UNC School of Law.

Some of the leading media law practitioners in the Triangle will discuss their career paths and share advice on job searches.  Students will learn what media law looks like in practice and identify the skills and experiences that will help them stand out when applying for media law jobs. The panelists include:

  • David Ardia, co-director of the UNC Center for Media Law and Policy
  • Teresa Artis, veteran in-house media lawyer and Media Law professor
  • Christiane Smedley ’22, associate at Brooks Pierce in Raleigh
  • Current upper-level law students who found relevant summer experiences

Lunch will be provided!
