The Disney ABC Television Group (DATG) is home to all of The Walt Disney Company's worldwide entertainment and news television properties. The Group includes the ABC Television Network (including ABC Entertainment Group and ABC News divisions); the Disney Channels Worldwide global kid's TV business and ABC Family; as well as television distribution divisions Disney ABC Domestic Television and Disney ABC ESPN Television. The Disney ABC Television Group also manages the Radio Disney Network, as well the Company’s equity interest in A&E Television Networks.

Responsibilities 
The Rights and Clearances legal intern will support the department’s team with various projects related to the licensing of third party content for ABC News programs and the distribution of ABC News content to its partners and clients. The intern should have a basic understanding of copyright and contract law as well as the television and digital media business.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Copyright research
• Follow-up with show producers for show rights information
• Various administrative projects as directed by department management

Basic Qualifications 
•All candidates must be eligible to work in the US
•All candidates must be at least 18 years old
•All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship
•All candidates must be available from May/June through August/September for the 12-15 week program
•All candidates must be willing to work 30-35 hours/week
•All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
•All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
•All candidates must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
•Demonstrated interest (academic or internship) in legal field
•Demonstrated interest (academic or internship) in television or new media field

Preferred Qualifications 
•Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year; JD in their 1L year
•Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
•Basic understanding of copyright, licensing and contract law
•Previous experience (academic or internship) in television, news & new media production
•Major in law, communications or liberal arts
