The Walt Disney Studios encompasses the creation, production, promotion, sales, acquisition and domestic and international distribution of live-action and animated motion pictures, DVD releases, live stage plays, and music and soundtrack recordings.

Motion Picture Production Music Business and Legal Affairs is comprised of music attorneys, paralegals and administrators responsible for all music-related business and legal affairs for Walt Disney Studios projects.

Responsibilities 

Student will assist members of the Studio Music/Business Legal Affairs Department with creating deal summaries, rights and restrictions memoranda and researching, drafting and revising various legal agreements, licenses and other documents for Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Talking Pictures, Walt Disney Pictures, DisneyToon Studios, Walt Disney Theatrical Productions, Disney Character Voices International and other business units under the supervision of the Primary Mentor.Student will attend regular music business/legal and music production staff meetings and have the opportunity to meet with the creative/licensing/marketing leaders in the Studio Music Dept.

Basic Qualifications 

  • -- Music background or music business experience and/or substantiated interest in music business or music law is vital.
  • -- Superior written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • -- Classes completed in copyright, entertainment and other intellectual property areas preferred.
  • -- Prior internship at entertainment company or law firm is beneficial.
  • -- Available full time for a period of 12 weeks between May/June through August/September.

Required Education 

Student must be a 2 nd year law student in a current JD program at time of interview.
