Description
CBS seeks an attorney with 4-6 years of experience who has strong writing, research, analytical, and interpersonal skills. The attorney will work in both the Contracts & Rights and Television Stations Sections of the CBS Law Department. The position will include drafting and negotiating agreements, such as talent, marketing, merchandising, distribution, production, facilities, purchasing, rights acquisition, technology, and nondisclosure agreements. The attorney will also counsel CBS television stations regarding a variety of matters, including news and commercial clearance, and will clear sweepstakes. Knowledge regarding broadcast, copyright, digital media, technology, and news would be beneficial.
Required Qualifications:
-- JD degree from accredited law school; excellent academic credentials
-- Member of the New York Bar
-- 4-6 years of legal experience at either a law firm or in-house at a media company
-- Superior writing and oral communication skills
-- Possess excellent negotiating, analytical, drafting and interpersonal skills
-- Superior work ethic, well organized and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously
-- Knowledge regarding broadcasting, copyright, digital media, technology, and news is a plus
