Job Summary:

Comcast Corporation's Washington, DC-based Public Policy group has a part-time position available for a legal intern for the fall 2015 semester.

The Public Policy Intern will research and write on a variety of issues including cable, Internet, voice, wireless, and related topics. The Intern can expect to prepare briefing memos, talking points, comment summaries, and other written material, and may have opportunities to attend conferences and other events outside of the office. The Intern will work with management to determine the impact of federal actions on the organization, develop presentations and other written materials on findings, and act as an internal consultant to the government affairs teams.

Applicants must be highly motivated self-starters, well-organized, detail-orientated, and able to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to handle multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines, and make decisions relying upon sound judgment. Strong research and writing skills required, and preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated interest in cable, media, telecommunications, and entertainment industries.

Core Responsibilities:

- Opens, sorts, and distributes mail.
- Processes routine items and records.
- Answers phones and takes messages or provides information.
- Operates various office equipment.
- Assists with projects to ensure deadlines are met.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Specification:

- High School or Equivalent (law or graduate students preferred)
- Generally requires 0-2 years related experience
