Responsibilities:
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements for Sprout with an emphasis on the network’s production and original programming development, production agreements and other operational agreements (including marketing, consumer products, etc.).
• Provide legal support and proactive legal advice to business teams on a daily basis.
• Provide general counseling and support in intellectual property usage Agreements for original programming/content.
• Advise team regarding contract interpretation and contract dispute resolution.
• Work on corporate and transactional matters as necessary, in conjunction with corporate development group.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Minimum 6 years related experience, preferably with a cable network, broadcast station or production company, or a law firm with a focus on television/cable programming networks, programming development, and/or media law.
• Member of a state bar in good standing.
• Experience in media, and/or entertainment industry preferred.
• Capable of providing practical legal advice to management.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task successfully and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude and leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities a must.
